The Cabinet meeting of Greenwich Council on Wednesday 18 February 2026 saw the approval of the Planning Enforcement Plan and the determination of admission arrangements for Royal Greenwich Schools for the 2027/28 academic year. Significant financial decisions were also made, including the approval of the Medium Term Financial Strategy for 2026/27 to 2029/30, which recommends a 2.99% increase in the borough element of council tax and a 2% Adult Social Care precept, alongside the adoption of the Treasury Management and Capital Strategy for 2026/27.

Royal Borough of Greenwich Strategic Risk Register

The Cabinet Member Planning & Development agreed to add 3-7 (odd) Blunts Road, The Park Tavern Public House, Tram Shelters on Well Hall Road, and 224 Eltham High Street to the Royal Greenwich Local Heritage List on 01/06/2026. The decision noted the heritage assessments, location plans, photographs, and that no consultation comments were received.

Treasury Management and Capital Outturn 24/25

The Cabinet, Council decided to note the Treasury Management Outturn Report for 2025/26 and the Capital Outturn Report for 2025/26 on 15 July 2026. The decision referred any comments on these reports to Full Council.

School Clothing Grants and Equivalent Food Provision for Children Educated Otherwise than at School

The Cabinet Member Planning & Development approved the scheme and estimate for converting a property in Hardy Road into a long-stay Children's Home, with a budget of £0.85m. The Director of Place & Growth, in consultation with the Director of Children’s Services, was authorised to vary scheme details within budget.

The Cabinet Member for Planning and Development agreed to add four sites to the Royal Greenwich Local Heritage List: 3-7 Blunts Road, The Park Tavern Public House, Tram Shelters on Well Hall Road, and 224 Eltham High Street. The decision was made on 1 June 2026.

The Cabinet agreed to expand the school uniform grant scheme to include Academy schools and to provide equivalent food provision to SEND children receiving education otherwise than at school. This decision was made on 15 July 2026.

The Leader of the Council agreed to commence statutory consultation on a proposal to introduce a selective licensing scheme in 17.5 wards of the Royal Borough. This decision was made on 15 July 2026.

Langton Way Disposal
