Licensing Sub-Committee - Tuesday 22nd July, 2025 11.30 am

The Licensing Sub-Committee convened to consider an application for a variation of a premises licence for The Coffee Place & Breakfast. The committee decided to grant the application, allowing for extended hours for alcohol sales and opening times, as well as a change of the premises name. The decision was made after considering the report of the Licensing Manager, representations from the applicant and a local resident, and relevant licensing objectives.

Licensing Sub-Committee - Tuesday 22nd July, 2025 10.30 am

The Licensing Sub-Committee convened to review an application for a new premises licence for Atmosphere Restaurant at 218 Burnt Oak Broadway, Edgware. The committee ultimately decided not to grant the licence, citing concerns about potential public nuisance due to noise and the applicant's failure to provide adequate evidence to mitigate these concerns. Councillor Claire Farrier was appointed Chairman for the meeting.

Planning Committee - Monday 21st July, 2025 7.00 pm

The Planning Committee of Barnet Council met on 21 July 2025, to discuss several planning and advertisement applications. The committee refused an application relating to tree preservation, but approved, with conditions, applications for a rear extension, and for the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging points with LCD advertising screens. They also refused two applications for roof extensions.

Crime and Disorder Scrutiny, Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Wednesday 16th July, 2025 7.00 pm

The Barnet Council Overview and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss several key reports and plans, including the Safer Communities Partnership Board Annual Report, the Youth Justice Plan, and the council's financial forecast. The committee made recommendations on hate crime prevention, budget scrutiny, and collaboration between police and parking enforcement. They also reviewed task and finish group updates and the cabinet forward plan, identifying areas for future scrutiny.

Strategic Planning Committee - Monday 14th July, 2025 7.00 pm

The Barnet Council Strategic Planning Committee met on 14 July 2025, and made decisions on two key planning applications. The committee refused an application for a new football stadium at Barnet Playing Fields, and approved the redevelopment of Bunns Lane Car Park in Mill Hill.
