The Strategic Planning Committee of Barnet Council met on Wednesday 13 November 2024 to discuss a planning application for Unit 7, Staples Corner Retail Park, Geron Way, London NW2 6LW. The committee granted planning permission for the demolition of existing buildings and the redevelopment of the site to provide a 26-storey purpose-built student accommodation scheme with ancillary commercial uses.

The Licensing and General Purposes Committee of Barnet Council met on Thursday 7 November 2024, approving a revised Licensing Policy for 2025-2030 and noting the Council's health, safety, and wellbeing performance for 2023/24. The committee also agreed on priorities for health, safety, and wellbeing for the next two years and approved proposals for polling districts and places, recommending no changes to current arrangements.

The Planning Committee of Barnet Council met on Wednesday 30 October 2024, approving the demolition and rebuild of the Church Hall at St Mary the Virgin in Barnet, subject to conditions, and granting permission for a change of use at 7 Northfield Road to a children's home. The committee refused an application for extensions and an outbuilding at 78 Kings Drive, Edgware, and refused the rendering of Fenton House in Hadley Green. Decisions were made regarding the removal of trees at Fairfield and 79 Oakley Park North, with the removal of a false acacia tree approved at 79 Oakley Park North, and a split decision made for Fairfield, approving the removal of a false acacia but refusing the removal of an oak tree.
