The Cabinet of Hammersmith and Fulham Council approved the Adult Social Care Independent Living Strategy 2026 – 2031 on 06/07/2026. This strategy outlines the vision, priorities, and approach for transforming adult social care.

The Cabinet of Hammersmith and Fulham Council decided on 06/07/2026 to approve recommendations for the Hammersmith Bridge Restoration Programme. They endorsed phased repair as the strategic approach, aiming to safeguard continued access for pedestrians, cyclists, and river traffic while minimising future liabilities. The Executive Director of Place was authorised to approve the bid for phased repair through the Structures Fund, determine local funding, and complete a procurement strategy. An annual revenue budget of £1.5m was approved from 2026/27 for monitoring, inspection, and maintenance.

The Cabinet approved the Adult Social Care Independent Living Strategy 2026-2031 on 06/07/2026. This strategy sets out a five-year framework for transforming adult social care to better support residents to live with independence, dignity, choice, and control. The approval includes recommendations for the development of micro-providers, a thriving voluntary sector, strengthened coordination of services, robust support for carers, technology-enabled care options, and increased uptake of self-directed options.

Councillor Alex Sanderson, Deputy Leader, approved the contract variation of older people's day centre contracts to extend their term from 1 September 2026 to 31 January 2027 on 01/06/2026. This extension ensures continuity of provision while the redesign of community and accommodation-based services is co-produced and finalised. The approved contract variation will extend the delivery of day centre provision at three commissioned day centres until 31 January 2027.

The Cabinet decided to approve the Local Plan Regulation 19 for consultation on 06/07/2026. The decision maker was the Cabinet. The Cabinet also gave delegated authority to the Director of Planning and Property to make editorial amendments, submit the plan for examination, and deal with matters arising from the publication and examination.
