The Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Lifelong Learning, Councillor Helyn Clack, approved the financial deficit plans for three maintained schools and agreed to extend the age range of St Giles' C of E (Aided) Infant School to become a primary school. Additionally, a specialist inclusion base will be established at Send C of E Primary School to support pupils with autism.

The Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Lifelong Learning noted the level of balances held by Surrey maintained schools as at 31 March 2026. The Cabinet Member approved licenced projected deficits as at 31 March 2027 for St James CE (Aided) Primary, Meadowcroft Primary, and Trumps Green Infant.

The Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Lifelong Learning determined to agree the proposal to extend the age range at St Giles’ C of E (Aided) Infant School from ages 4-7 to ages 4-11, so that it becomes St Giles’ C of E (Aided) Primary School from September 2027. This decision was made on 27/10/2026. The decision included approving the reduction of the school's published admission number from 30 to 15 from September 2027.
