Councillor Jim Hakewill

The Council of North Northamptonshire Council on Thursday 16 July 2026 approved and adopted the revised Constitution as shown at Appendix A of the report. This decision was made on 16/07/2026.

The Council of North Northamptonshire approved the minutes of the Special Meeting of Council and the Annual Meeting of Council held on 21st May 2026 on 16th July 2026. The Council also elected Councillor Maurice Eglin as Chair and Councillor Andy Sims as Vice-Chair for the Municipal Year 2026/27. Additionally, six individuals were enrolled as Honorary Aldermen or Alderwomen of North Northamptonshire.

The Council of North Northamptonshire Council resolved that Councillor Andy Simms be appointed as Chair of the Council on 16 July 2026.

The Joint Committee of Place & Environment and Corporate Scrutiny Committee recommended to the Scrutiny Management Board on 15 July 2026 that it considers establishing a Task and Finish Group. This group would review the Highways Maintenance Contract, the council's strategic approach, delivery of outcomes, performance, and contract management arrangements.

The Corporate Scrutiny Committee of North Northamptonshire Council decided to note the Scrutiny Work Programme on 29/06/2026. The committee's work programme includes scrutiny of budget forecasts, key performance indicators, transformation updates, and the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman Annual Report.
