The Strategy and Change Scrutiny Panel met to discuss the progress and future direction of the council's Workforce Strategy. Key areas of discussion included recruitment and retention, learning and development, equality, diversity, inclusion, and community engagement, alongside ongoing workforce challenges such as an aging workforce and the need for new skills. The panel also reviewed its work programme.

The Council meeting on Tuesday 13 October 2026 saw significant debate on a public petition concerning pension fund investments in relation to the conflict in Gaza, and a motion opposing the proposed Troubadour Theatre development in Walpole Park. The Council also discussed and approved new regulations for e-bike parking enforcement and made amendments to its constitutional arrangements for planning committee governance.

Economy and Sustainability Scrutiny Panel - Wednesday, 30 September 2026 7.00 pm

The Economy and Sustainability Scrutiny Panel was scheduled to consider its work programme for the upcoming year and to review emerging findings on youth labour market participation. The panel was also scheduled to examine Ealing Council's existing employment and skills initiatives and discuss future strategies to support residents, particularly young people not in education, employment, or training (NEET).
