The Melton Borough Council Cabinet approved amendments to the Homelessness Strategy 2024-2029 and its associated action plan on 14 October 2026. Authority was delegated to the Director for Housing and Communities, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Landlord Services, Social and Private Sector Housing, to make subsequent changes arising from legislative or operational shifts.

Melton Council's Cabinet noted an update on Houses in Multiple Occupation on 14 October 2026. The Cabinet approved recommendations to note officer work assessing HMO evidence and delegated authority to the Director for Housing and Communities, in consultation with the Leader, to determine if an Article 4 Direction or other controls are justified. This delegation includes deciding the appropriate geographic area, resource implications, consultation requirements, and implementation arrangements.
