Melton Borough Council held an extraordinary meeting to elect a new leader following the resignation of Councillor Pip Allnatt. After a tied vote between Councillor Mike Brown and Councillor Ronan Browne, the Mayor, Councillor Siggy Atherton, used her casting vote to elect Councillor Ronan Browne as the new Leader of the Council.

Leicester & Leicestershire Statements of Common Ground

The Cabinet of Melton Council approved two Statements of Common Ground relating to Housing Distribution and Strategic Warehousing Need on 15 April 2026. The Cabinet delegated authority to the Director for Place and Prosperity to sign these statements on behalf of the Council.

Building Control Delegation Agreement

The Cabinet of Melton Council decided to approve the delegation of the Council's statutory Building Control Service to the Leicestershire Building Control Partnership on 15 April 2026.
