The Corporate Parenting Committee of Brent Council was scheduled to discuss the outcomes of a recent Ofsted focused visit, the implementation of the Brent Looked After Children and Care Leavers Placement Sufficiency Strategy 2025-2029, and an update on the progress of opening the local authority's own Residential Children's Home. The meeting also included an update from representatives of Brent Care Journeys 2.0.

The Council of Brent Council convened for an extraordinary meeting on Tuesday 13 January 2026. The primary focus of the meeting was to review and adjust the representation of political groups on council committees and other relevant bodies following a change in the council's political balance. This adjustment was necessitated by the formation of a new political group.
