The Democracy and Standards Committee of North Northamptonshire Council decided to recommend to Council approval of revisions to the constitution regarding the planning scheme of delegation, retention of 13 members on the planning committee, and arrangements for nominated officers and members. The committee also approved guidance documents for determining the scope of councillor code of conduct complaints, confidentiality in such complaints, and procedures for standards hearing panels. The committee noted the report on national and local standards matters and the work programme update.

The Democracy and Standards Committee of North Northamptonshire Council approved recommendations on 19 October 2026. These recommendations included amendments to the Scrutiny Procedure Rules for council approval and noted the Scrutiny Task & Finish Panel General Guidance. The approved changes will establish a Scrutiny Leadership Forum, a Call-In Committee, and revise Task and Finish Panel procedures.
