Standards Committee

The Committee consists of 19 Members – 9 elected Members of Cornwall Council, 4 independent lay members, 5 parish/town and city council representatives and 1 clerk currently employed by a city, town or parish Council in Cornwall.  [The independent non-elected members, parish/town and city council and clerk representatives sit on the Committee as co-opted non-voting members.]   The Committee is responsible to the Council for promoting and maintaining high standards of conduct by Members and co-opted members of the Council.  It advises the Council on the adoption, revision and promotion of the Members’ Code of Conduct and the procedures associated with the Code.
