The Overview & Scrutiny Committee (OSC) is responsible for scrutinising all of Enfield Council's functions and responsibilities. It ensures the council and external service providers are held accountable to residents by making decision-making processes clear and understandable.
The OSC hears 'call-ins' where decisions made by the Cabinet, its sub-committees, individual cabinet members, or officers can be challenged. The committee can decide whether original decisions should be reconsidered, upheld, or referred to Full Council. It also coordinates the work of four Scrutiny Panels, which review council functions, make recommendations, and investigate borough issues.
