The Scrutiny Panel reviews decisions made by Strategic or Neighbourhood Committees through a 'Call-In' process. It can uphold the original decision, or refer it back to the committee (or the full Council in exceptional cases) with recommendations for changes or to reverse the decision. The Panel is convened when a valid Call-In is received and is chaired by an Opposition Member. It may invite individuals to provide advice during its meetings.
