The purpose of a Cabinet Advisory Board is to consider the functions of the Cabinet that fall within its remit. Cabinet Advisory Boards may only advise, they do not have any power to make decisions on those matters. As meetings of the Cabinet Advisory Board are non-decision making, the Chair will determine whether any meeting is to be held in person or remotely, provided that the first meeting of any municipal year will take place in person. Responsibilities: - To consider and where necessary make recommendations on all key and non-key decisions to be taken by Cabinet that fall within their remit. - To assist and advise the Cabinet in the development of the Policy Framework issues that fall within their remit. - Assist in the development of Cabinet decisions within their remit and that require wider member involvement. The remit of the Communities, Housing and Environment Cabinet Advisory Board includes: - Environment and Sustainability including Carbon Reduction, Biodiversity, Recycling and Waste Collection, Street Scene, Environmental Health, Corporate Health and Safety, Licencing and Transportation and Parking - Sports Facilities, Leisure Centres and Pitches - Parks - Health - Cemetery and Crematorium - Planning, Planning Policy and Planning Enforcement - Development Management - Heritage and Conservation - Building Control - Economic Development - Business Engagement - Tourism - Supporting Town Centres - Culture, Events (including Ice Rink) - Housing (including private sector and homelessness prevention) - Community Safety and CCTV - Community Centres and Grants - Rural Communities - Voluntary and Community Sector Organisations - Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion - Safeguarding
