Full Council - Wednesday, 15 July 2026 - 6.30 pm

The Full Council of Tunbridge Wells Council met on Wednesday 15 July 2026, approving the establishment of a new Royal Tunbridge Wells Town Council and adopting a revised Corporate Net Zero Strategy with a new target year of 2046/47. The council also formally adopted the Southborough and High Brooms Neighbourhood Development Plan and the Sandhurst Neighbourhood Development Plan, following successful referendums.

The annual meeting of Tunbridge Wells Borough Council saw the election of Councillor Beverley Palmer as the new Mayor and Councillor Astra Birch as the new Deputy Mayor. The council also re-elected Councillor Ben Chapelard as Leader of the Council for a further term and approved the allocation of seats to political groups and appointments to various committees and working groups.
