Strategic Planning Committee

The Wiltshire Strategic Planning Committee is responsible for making key decisions on planning applications that have significant implications beyond local areas. It considers major developments of 200 houses or more, or 10,000 square metres of non-residential floor space, as well as applications for mineral extraction or waste disposal. The committee also reviews significant council development proposals, applications that depart from development plan policies, and those called in by a member that cross area committee boundaries. It also considers public representations and advises the Cabinet on the Local Development Framework.
