The report pack indicated that the recommended salary for the Director of Housing post is within the HB2 pay band, ranging from £139,017 to £161,397, as outlined in the Council's Pay Policy Statement. The appointment would only be confirmed if no objections were raised by the Cabinet, or if any objections were deemed not material or well-founded. The report also stated that if the successful candidate did not accept the offer, an alternative appointable candidate recommended by the Member Panel could be offered the role.

The role of Director of Housing is considered a key position within the council's strategic leadership, responsible for delivering council priorities and the Borough Plan. The report highlighted that the cost of this post could be met from the approved budget.
