The Strategic Planning Committee of West Northamptonshire Council approved the construction of a solar photovoltaic farm on 14th July 2026. The decision was made in line with officer recommendations, subject to conditions. Conditions include securing biodiversity mitigation, a Construction Environmental Management Plan, a lighting strategy, Biodiversity Net Gain measures, soil management, restoration and aftercare, a detailed drainage design, long-term maintenance, erosion control, verification of drainage infrastructure, a Written Scheme of Investigation, and a Heritage Management Plan.

The Strategic Planning Committee refused planning permission for the erection of 9 employment units at Furtho Pits, Old Stratford. The decision was made on 30/06/2026.

The Strategic Planning Committee of West Northamptonshire Council approved the retrospective planning application for a change of use of an industrial building to a Waste Transfer and Treatment Facility at Cottage Farm, Unit 11, Hartwell Road, Roade, NN7 2NU on 16 June 2026. The decision was made in accordance with the Case Officer’s recommendation. The committee approved the application subject to conditions including restricting HGVs passing Roade Primary School during designated school pick-up and drop-off times and formalising the proposed hours of operation.

The Strategic Planning Committee decided to approve the recommendations for the outline application for up to 450 dwellings. This decision was made on 16/06/2026. The approval is subject to conditions and the completion of a Section 106 agreement, which includes provisions for affordable housing, financial contributions towards healthcare, education, libraries, sustainable transport, open space, refuse and recycling, and biodiversity net gain.
