The Audit Committee of Cornwall Council approved the minutes of the meeting held on 13 January 2026 on 25 September 2026. The committee resolved to re-elect Cllr Magowan as Chairman and Cllr Boase as Vice Chairman. An Appointments Panel was established to recruit an independent lay member, with authority delegated to select the most suitable candidate.

The Cornwall Audit Committee approved recommendations regarding the internal audit plan and progress report on 25 September 2026. The committee recommended to Cabinet that further investment in the Internal Audit Team be considered during budget development. The committee noted progress in implementing agreed management actions arising from internal audit reviews.

The Cornwall Council Audit Committee reviewed the External Auditor’s Update and Sector Briefing on 25 September 2026. The committee approved recommendations for updates on the DSG deficit position, the Pydar site transfer/disposal value for money considerations, and the proportion of Cornwall Pension Fund investments classified as Level 3.
