The Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Committee decided to approve recommendations regarding the Northamptonshire Safeguarding Adults Board Annual Report 2025-26 on 29 September 2026. The committee noted the report's contents, provided feedback on local safeguarding arrangements, and considered areas for further scrutiny. They also requested an update by September 2027 on the delivery of the Northamptonshire Safeguarding Adults Board Strategic Plan 2026-2029, including performance data and evidence of improvements to safeguarding practice.

The Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Committee of North Northamptonshire Council decided to note the Scrutiny Work Programme on 29/09/2026. The committee approved recommendations for the Director of Public Health Annual Report to include progress review and outcome measures, for the Northamptonshire Safeguarding Adults Board Annual Report to provide an update on strategic priorities, and for the Winter Preparedness Report to include climate-related resilience measures. The committee also approved updates on General Practice and Dental Performance and Availability, and quarterly updates on the Adult Social Care CQC Improvement Plan.

The Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Committee noted the Director of Public Health's Annual Report 2025-26 on 29 September 2026. The committee requested an update on progress against the report's recommendations by September 2027. This update should include measurable evidence of changes in health and wellbeing outcomes and progress in reducing health inequalities.

The Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Committee decided to approve the minutes of the meeting held on 2nd July 2026. The committee also noted and endorsed the Northamptonshire Suicide Prevention Strategy 2026-2031 and its accompanying action plan. Additionally, they noted the CQC Assessment outcome and rating of Requires Improvement for Adult Social Care, the Improvement Plan, and supported the development of an Adult Social Care Improvement Board.

The Council of North Northamptonshire Council approved changes to political balance on council committees on 24 September 2026. The decision approved the revised allocation of seats for committees to recognised political groups in accordance with statutory proportionality requirements and the Constitution. Changes to committees will be approved by the Monitoring Officer in consultation with political group leaders.
