The Melton Cabinet decided to approve recommendations regarding the BID ballot. The Cabinet confirmed its support for the BID and delegated authority to the Director for Place and Prosperity, in consultation with the Leader, to vote in favour of a new 5-year BID term from 2026-2031. The Cabinet also delegated authority to the Director for Place and Prosperity, in consultation with the S151 Officer, to agree the terms of an operating agreement for the next BID ballot term.

This delegation includes deciding the appropriate geographic area, resource implications, consultation requirements, and implementation arrangements.

The Cabinet decided to approve recommendations regarding legal action on Local Government Reorganisation on 14 October 2026. The Cabinet delegated authority to the Monitoring Officer to commence and join Judicial Review proceedings to challenge the Secretary of State's decision on local government reorganisation.
