The Strategic Investment Board (SIB) oversees Surrey Council's trading activities and company investments to ensure good performance and manage risks. Its work helps fund council services for residents.
The SIB approves share allotments, evaluates company financial performance, and agrees the strategic direction and sale of council investments. It also approves capital or revenue investments of £1m and above, considers recommendations to cease trading, and approves business cases for landholdings that support the investment strategy. The board approves property investment acquisitions, disposals, and asset management expenditure over £1m, as well as financing for the council's property company and non-property investments.
