The Strategy and Resources Committee is responsible for overseeing the council's overall strategic direction, budget, and resource allocation. It makes recommendations to the full council on the budget and policy framework, and decides on matters not delegated to other committees or officers.
This includes areas such as financial planning, human resources, ICT, property management, and emergency planning. The committee also handles appointments to outside bodies, considers local ombudsman investigations, and can make compulsory purchase orders. It has the power to delegate its functions to other committees or senior employees, but can also choose to exercise them itself.
