Elections Print Contract

Housing Strategy Consultation draft

West Northamptonshire Council's Cabinet approved the draft Housing Strategy 2027-2032 for public consultation on 12 October 2026. The Cabinet also authorised officers to undertake a six-week consultation and delegated authority to the Corporate Director Housing and Communities, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Housing and Communities, to make minor amendments to the draft strategy prior to consultation.

War Pension Disregard (Modified scheme) for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction

The Cabinet of West Northamptonshire Council approved the continuation of the modified scheme for the full disregard of War Disablement and War Widows/Widowers Pensions in the assessment of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction on 12/10/2026. The Assistant Director for Planning and Development was given delegated powers to grant permission for the construction of 14 residential dwellings, including 12 affordable homes, subject to conditions and a Section 106 legal agreement. The Assistant Director for Planning and Development was also given delegated powers to grant permission for the change of use from C3 Residential to C2 Residential Institution for use as a care home for up to 4 residents, subject to conditions.
