The Cabinet of Tunbridge Wells decided on 22 October 2026 to recommend forwarding the Royal Victoria Place Development - Palm Court scheme to the Council. The Cabinet approved the Palm Court scheme for funding and delivery, and confirmed it could proceed independently of the Ely Court scheme if necessary. The Cabinet also endorsed the strategy for a two-stage Design & Build contractor procurement for the Full Scheme.

The Cabinet of Tunbridge Wells Council decided on 22/10/2026 to approve the appointment of contractors for minor maintenance and responsive repairs. The Head of Economic Development and Property and the Director of Finance, Growth and Delivery, in consultation with the Monitoring Officer and Portfolio Holder for Finance and Property, were given delegated authority to complete negotiations, legal formalities, and enter into contracts for fabric, electrical, fire & security, and asbestos works. They were also given delegated authority to extend existing mechanical and lift contractor contracts for up to 12 months if required, and to return to market for specialist mechanical and lift contractors.

The Cabinet of Tunbridge Wells Council decided to approve entering into a new agreement for lease and lease for Royal Victoria Place. The decision was made on 22/10/2026. The Head of Economic Development and Property, in consultation with the Director of Finance, Growth and Delivery, the Cabinet Member for Finance and Property, and the Cabinet Member for Economic Development, will agree the final terms.

The Cabinet decided to approve the Draft Statement of Community Involvement dated October 2026 for engagement purposes relating to planning matters. The Head of Planning, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Planning, was authorised to make essential editorial, presentational, and other non-material changes before online publication. This decision was made on 22 October 2026.

The Cabinet of Tunbridge Wells Council decided on 22/10/2026 to continue work towards plans to reduce the projected budget deficit. Officers will report back in December with draft proposals prior to public consultation.
