The Planning Sub-Committee (2) of Westminster Council met on Tuesday 21 April 2026 to discuss several planning applications. The committee granted conditional planning permission for a new research centre at St Mary's Hospital, approved details related to servicing and travel plans for a development on Marylebone Road, and granted conditional planning permission and listed building consent for the conversion of a property on Cambridge Street into an embassy. Permission was refused for a mansard roof extension at 9 Churton Place due to design concerns, and conditional permission was granted for the continued use of Passage House as a hostel.

Strategic Planning Committee - Tuesday 24th March, 2026 6.30 pm

The Strategic Planning Committee of Westminster Council met on Tuesday 24 March 2026 to discuss two significant planning applications. The committee approved changes to Phase 5 of the Chelsea Barracks redevelopment, allowing for the construction of 87 apartments instead of 20 townhouses, and also granted permission for extensions and alterations to the Grade II listed Columbia Hotel at 95-99 Lancaster Gate.

Cabinet - Monday 16th March, 2026 6.30 pm

Westminster City Council's Cabinet met on Monday 16 March 2026 to discuss and approve the renewal of the Additional Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) Licensing Designation. The Cabinet also approved the Westminster Housing Strategy 2026-2031 and two high-value Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy (NCIL) applications.

Council - Wednesday 4th March, 2026 7.00 pm

The Council meeting on Wednesday 4th March 2026 saw the approval of the Council's budget for the upcoming financial year, including a proposed 2% increase in council tax for the adult social care precept. Significant capital investment plans were also approved, alongside updates to the Housing Revenue Account Business Plan and the Treasury Management Strategy. The Council also formally adopted changes to its Constitution and a new Code of Governance.
