About

The People Committee is Sutton Council's statutory social services committee. It carries out functions related to adoption, fostering, adult social care, and various children's services, including education and safeguarding. The committee operates within the council's budget and policy framework, recommending new or changed policies to the Full Council. It can also delegate decision-making to Strategic Directors, though it retains the option to exercise these functions itself. Representatives from religious boards may participate and vote on education matters.
